Radiographic x-ray images are often obtained to both determine the underlying spinal condition, and to ascertain any clinical reasons why treatment should be modified or avoided. Radiographic x-ray studies can also help to determine if the patient should be referred to another healthcare provider for consultation or further evaluation.
Care is taken to minimize radiation exposure, and to obtain only those images necessary to properly evaluate the patient.
X-ray studies often confirm or re-direct a final diagnosis or treatment plan, and many times uncover conditions within the bones and joints that would have otherwise gone unnoticed.
